1 dress – 3 ways to wear it

outfits samenstellen is voor mij hetzelfde als een interieur inrichten: vertrekken van een goede basis en deze dan aankleden met de juiste accessoires om een bepaalde sfeer te creëren.

ik verkies daarom wat meer te investeren in een duurdere en kwaliteitsvol basisstuk (solden zijn hiervoor excellent!) en af te wisselen met goedkopere accessoires zoals clutches, halskettingen, sjaals. bij handtassen en schoenen let ik ook op de kwaliteit want deze kunnen jaren meegaan.

het is niet omdat je een bepaalde outfit in de winkel hebt gekocht, dat je deze altijd op diezelfde manier moet dragen. daag jezelf uit en laat je creatieve zelf eens aan het werk. hier vind je al wat inspiratie met dit zijden kleed (set bij damoy antwerp).

to me, putting outfits together is the same as housefurnishing: starting from a good base and combining it with the right accessories to create certain atmospheres. 

that is why i prefer to invest in more expensive quality pieces for my basics (sales are the perfect period for this!) and vary with cheaper accessories like clutches, necklaces, scarves. however, i also choose for quality when buying handbags and shoes as they can used during years. 

it’s not because you’ve bought an outfit in the shop, that you should always wear the way you bought. try to challenge yourself and get the most creative part of yourself to work! you’ll find some inspiration with this silk dress (set @ damoy antwerp).

mix and match: how to wear the squared shirt

waarschijnlijk weet je al dat ik een grote fan ben van het combineren van contrasten als het op stijl aankomt (ook in mijn interieur trouwens!): combineer stoer met tuttig, de ruwe look van leder in combinatie met zachtheid en elegantie van zijde,… je leest er meer over in ‘opposites attract’.

ook voor de casual outfit van deze m&m pas ik het stoere van een geruit hemd met studs en studded all stars  toe in combinatie met het geraffineerde van een rok in kant. voor de tweede outfit gebruik ik het geruite hemd als kleurelement én riem voor een basic jurk. voeg er stoere boots aan toe en een studded handtas, en je hebt een perfecte city look!

you’ve might noticed that i like to use contrasts in my personal clothing style (by the way, also in my interiorstyle!). i like the roughness of leather with the softness and elegance of silk for instance. you can learn more of this in ‘opposites attract’. 

for this week’s m&m casual outfit i combine a tough looking squared shirt withs studs and studded all stars with a refined lace skirt. in the second outfit the squared shirt is used as an unusual belt and it puts a color accent  to a basic black dress. wear it with boots and a studded handbag to have a perfect city look!

mix and match: how to wear the white blazer

in een interieur is wit een perfecte basis om van te vertrekken en je voegt er de kleuraccenten aan toe die je zelf wenst. bovendien kan je vaak veranderen. dat werkt precies hetzelfde met kledij. daarom is de witte blazer een uitstekende investering voor je garderobe. bekijk deze 2 outfits en laat je overtuigen!

tip: kies een koeler wit (wit-wit) als je een koel zomer- of wintertype bent en een warmer wit (gebroken wit) als je een lente- of herfsttype bent.

white is a perfect color to start from in your interior. you just add some colored items you like. moreover, you can change those items more easily then the basis. the same principle works for your clothing. that is why the white blazer is a perfect investment in your wardrobe. look at these 2 outfits if you’re not convinced yet!

tip: choose a cooler white (bright white) if you’re a cool summer or winter type. if you’re a warm spring or autumn type, you’re better off with ivory white.

opposites attract

tijdens mijn stijlanalyses, workshops en personal shopping, raad ik mijn klanten altijd aan om niet voor het ‘meest evidente’ te gaan bij het combineren van kledij. durf out of the box te denken en ga zoveel mogelijk mixen. combinatietips vind je hier.

zelf vind ik één van de fijnste manieren om kledij te combineren, het principe van tegengestelden oftewel ‘opposites attracts’. denk dan: vrouwelijk vs stoer, ruwe vs zachte stof, gekleed vs sportief, bloemen vs strepen, verwachte vs onverwachte combinaties.

during my consulting, workshops and personal shopping sessions, i often motivate my clients not to combine their clothes in the most obvious way. i encourage them to think out of the box and to try to mix as much as possible.

one of the best ways to combine for me personally, is the application of contrasts or otherwise said ‘opposites attract’. think of: feminine vs tough, soft vs rough fabrics, dressy vs sporty, flowers vs stripes, expected vs unexpected combinations.

ik ben lang op zoek geweest naar de perfecte ‘lace skirt’. oftewel was het kant niet mooi genoeg, of het model van de rok was niet wat ik zocht. eindelijk vond ik de combinatie van de perfecte snit voor mij en een mooie tekening. ik had dan ook al meteen 2 mogelijke combinaties in mijn hoofd die ik graag met jullie deel!

i have been looking for a lace skirt for a while now. finally i found the perfect combination of a nice design with a great pattern, which i immediately both liked. i could quickly imagine 2 ways to wear it, which i gladly share with you!

joehoe! de zon komt er aan en dus is het hoogtijd om een fris zomerkleedje uit de kast te halen. een witte jurk is een goede basis waarmee je alweer heel wat kanten uitkan.

kleed het aan met een opvallende halsketting en een elegante riem en schoenen om er mee te gaan werken. ben je op citytrip, dan draag je het kleedje met comfortabele sandaaltjes en een handtasje over je schouders. een kleurige sjaal fleurt het geheel meteen weer op. ik neem altijd een sjaal mee als ik in het buitenland een stad ga bezoeken. die kan ik, indien het iets frisser mocht worden tijdens de dag, makkelijk over mijn schouders dragen.

allright! sunny days have been forecasted. time to put a fresh summerdress on. the white dress is a good base to start from!

wear it with a statement necklace, an elegant belt and high heels to go to the office. for a citytrip you combine it with comfortable sandals and a small shoulder bag. when i travel in a city, i always take a scarf with me: it brightens up my outfit, but it is practical especially when it becomes cooler during the day.

een glitterrok is ideaal voor een party, maar het zou zonde zijn om ze daarna in de kast te laten hangen. je kan ze ook in een casual outfit dragen! dat hangt geheel af van jouw creativiteit en de combinaties die je durft te maken. hier wat inspiratie!
